According to a report by the Mirror, Tottenham are confident of completing the signing of 22-year-old midfielder Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.
The North-London club have been known to be clear favourites for the Englishman all Summer, but talks did slow down as Tottenham Chairman Levy tried to get Aston Villa to lower their asking price.
The championship side are now expected to sell the midfielder because of their current financial state and with them needing the money, Levy hoped it would force Villa to lower their asking price.
Daniel Levy had been holding back a little from the bidding process as he was attempting to take advantage of Villa’s financial issues under Dr Tony Xia, which left the Championship club on the brink of administration.
The £20million amount which Spurs are offering is much a lot lower than Villa’s asking price for the player but it will be difficult for them to turn down an opportunity to make a profit in midst of their financial problems.
