Highly-rated midfielder Saúl Ñíguez is being lined up by Mauricio Pochettino for a switch to England, reports in Spain have confirmed.
Yet to make an appearance for the National team, Saúl has been with Atlético since 2008 and made his first team debut in 2012.
The 21-year-old has already made 34 appearances – seven of which have come in the Champions League, the competition that looks set to grace White Hart Lane in September.
According to ITA Sport Press, Spurs are preparing a £23.6million bid as well as a yearly salary of £4.7million to sign their man.
The addition of Saúl would represent that Tottenham are aiming to push for the title once more, and it has been confirmed that Daniel Levy is more than happy to give Pochettino the funds he requires.
However, it’s apparent that the Lilywhites face competition from Arsenal and Manchester United who are also keen on bringing in the promising Spanish talent.
