Paris Saint-Germain are preparing a £100million bid for Tottenham midfielder Cristian Eriksen.
Although any bid is unlikely to succeed, PSG are prepared to try. Eriksen had talks earlier this summer over a new deal at Tottenham. His current deal runs will be running out in 2020. But no progress was made in negotiations over the new deal which is probably why top European clubs such as PSG are interested.
Tottenham were the only club not to make any new signings in the summer transfer window – the first time this has happened since the summer window was introduced back in 2003.
However, this does mean that it leaves them at a double disadvantage. Not only have they failed to strengthen their squad but it leaves them open to multiple speculation regarding top players at the club, who they will not be able to replace if they do lose any players.
However, the cost of Tottenham’s new stadium has increased from an initial estimate of £400million to something approaching £1billion meaning PSG could well test Spurs’ resolve as they seek to take control of nay financial situation.
