According to Sky in Italy, Chelsea have put a £62million price tag on Alvaro Morata, amid growing interest from Italian side AC Milan. Negotiations between AC Milan and Chelsea started taking place this week with the the Blues having named their asking price, Milan are less keen on the deal.
The two club are far apart in their valuation of the player though with AC Milan only prepared to pay £40m for the Spanish international.
Chelsea are hoping to make back the £59m they spent on the former Real Madrid forward last summer.
The Spaniard managed to score 11 Premier League goals in 31 games, however his form dropped off towards the end of the season leaving many Chelsea fans disappointed with their record signing.
The club are now considering making a move for another Serie A striker in Gonzalo Higuain.
Maurizio Sarri remains incredibly keen on Higuain and Italian football agent Silvio Pagliari says he is expecting Higuain to join Chelsea before the window closes, with Morata to leave in this window to provide the funds for the move.
He told Sky Sports Italia:
“For me Higuain will go to Chelsea, while Morata will close with Milan Bonucci-Caldara? If I know Marotta at least a little, they must laugh to close a deal like that.”
Is this the right move for Chelsea?
