Barcelona will be meeting this week to discuss a move for Coutinho in full, however there are also fears that the Catalan side will be trying to get the Brazilian for a relatively cheap price.
Reports reports on Sunday claimed that Barcelona will be offering Liverpool £81m with £9m in add-ons and variables, which would take the deal to £90m for the Brazilian playmaker.
Liverpool fans will be worried about the fact that the club actually wants to meet up with Barcelona to discuss this departure (if reports are to be believed). Jurgen Klopp is known to have no interest in selling Coutinho, but if this is also true then why would the Liverpool hierarchy be meeting with Barcelona.
Coutinho didn’t travel to Dublin for the friendly game with Bilbao on Saturday which started off all of the speculation that Liverpool have weakened their opposition and are now ready to sell.
The player is known to be keen to join Barcelona though, which makes it all the more interesting. He is currently earning around £200,000 a week at Anfield and reports have suggested that Coutinho would be willing to take a pay-cut to make the move.
