According to a report by Goal.com, the Premier League leaders sent scouts to watch 22-year-old German Jeremy Toljan.
Antonio Conte believed to be on the hunt for wing-backs to provide competition for Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses and with Toljan looking like he could fit the bill. The 22-year-old can play on the left and the right hand side so would certainly be very useful.
The Stuttgart-born ace is under contract at Hoffenheim until at least 2018 but seems unlikely to extend his deal at the club.
Chelsea will face competition from Serie A side Napoli.
Chelsea boss Conte is also believed to be interested in West Ham star Michail Antonio, Schalke’s Sead Kolasinac and Monaco’s Djibril Sidibe.
