Marco Verratti’s agent, Donato Di Campli, has hinted that the Italian could make a move away from Paris Saint-Germain and claims that the midfielder is “destined for a top European club.”
Di Campli explained that the 24-year-old has a decision to make about his future and claimed that he “cannot win” if he stays at PSG, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia):
The situation is extremely complicated, he’s tied to a very important contract until 2021. He wants to win and, with PSG as they are now, he cannot win.
He’s been in France for five years and now has to make a decision: to earn a lot without winning or earn or to become a champion?
It’s not a question of money: anyone who buys Verratti would pay a lot. Because there is at least one thing for sure: he leaves PSG, it will be for a top European club.
There is [interest from Italian clubs], but I somehow doubt that this will be his final destination.
The comments come only days after Di Campli claimed that there was “no doubt” Verratti would ay at PSG which is pretty confusing.
He has also been heavily linked with Barcelona to act as a long-term replacement for Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta, if reports by Corriere dello Sport are to be believed.
Verratti signed for PSG from Pescara back in 2012 and has since earned a reputation as one of Europe’s most talented central midfielders while winning an impressive four Ligue 1 titles.
