Newcastle United midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum will be looking to force through a move to Tottenham this summer, according to a report by The Daily Mirror.
Wijnaldum, who is currently 25-years-old, only joined Newcastle from PSV Eindhoven in a £14.5m deal a season ago but is believed to be keen to play Champions League football next season with Tottenham after Newcastle United’s relegation to the Championship.
Newcastle have reportedly slapped a £25m asking price on the Dutchman’s head but Tottenham have no intention of paying anywhere near that price despite actively looking to strengthen their squad this Summer.
Wijnaldum managed to score 11 goals during his short campaign in the Premier League last season but all of those came at St. James’ Park; only Sergio Aguero (15) and Jamie Vardy (14) scored more goals at home than the Dutchman.
Would this be a good move for Tottenham?
