Arsenal are set to go head-to-head with Premier League side Liverpool for the signing of Monaco youngster Kyllian Mbappe.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal and Liverpool are monitoring the 17-year-old winger’s progress and performances with Monaco, and Manchester United reportedly enquired for Mbappe during the winter transfer window and Mbappe has been tipped to follow in the footsteps of Anthony Martial.
Mbappe made the news over the previous weekend when the forward became Monaco’s youngest ever goal-scorer after scoring in the Ligue 1’s side 3-1 win over Troyes in the league, breaking Arsenal legend Thierry Henry’s 20 year-long record that had lasted with the club.
The Monaco youth product is yet to sign a professional contract with Monaco and could leave in the summer for a small transfer fee, however if Monaco qualify for the Champions League this season, Mbappe could be swayed to stay at the Ligue 1 side.
