According to the Liverpool Echo, Jürgen Klopp has sent scouts to watch Benfica youngster, Renato Sanches.

Renato Sanches (18) has been touted as a rising star in the game who could go on to become a world beater, making the midfielder seriously hot property in Europe at the moment.

With Benfica realising Renato’s phenomenal potential; the Águias were quick to tie the Portuguese Under-19’s player down to a new contract in December 2015 containing a new release-clause of £62 million (80 million Euros).

Having said this, it is believed that Benfica would be willing to entertain offers of around the £47 million mark for their midfielder, a price-tag which has made a lot of Europe elite clubs sit up and monitor the situation intensely.

The latest game Liverpool scouts attended was Friday 12th February 2016, were Benfica lost 2-1 to league rivals, Porto. Benfica may have lost, but this did not affect Renato’s game as the 18 year old managed to impress by getting himself an assist on the night.

With the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City all in the running for the youngster’s signature, on top of the abroad interest from the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona, any deal for Renato Sanches would not come easy.

However, with Jürgen Klopp’s track record of realising youth players potential and giving them a regular chance in the first team, Liverpool may just be the dark horse to win the race for the young talent.
