Arsenal have joined the race to sign Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi according to Fichajes.
The out of favour striker has struggled for form this season since Roberto Mancini gave the 22-year-old the captaincy, and clubs such as Liverpool have been circling the Argentine like sharks in order to acquire his signature.
The former Sampdoria striker has only found the net nine times this season in 20 appearances for the Inter, and Icardi missed a penalty in last weeks Milan derby which their rivals won 3-0.
Icardi is currently valued at £20million, and with Arsenal looking empty upfront, Icardi could prove to be a masterstroke of a signing for Arsene Wenger.
Elsewhere, the Express are reporting that Serge Gnabry’s loan move to a Championship side is almost complete.
Brighton, Charlton and Fulham have all been reportedly interested in taking the in the German u21 winger for the rest of the season. Gnabry was recalled from his loan at Premier League side West Brom last week after registering just one appearance with the Baggies in the league.
