Arsenal have today been linked with a move for Real Madrid defender Nacho.
According to the Sun, the Gunners are interested in obtaining the services of the Madrid defender, however with Nacho Monreal now signing a new contract extension with the club, a bid for the 26-year-old looks unlikely.
If Arsene Wenger was to bring in the £8million rated defender, Wenger could use him as a back-up centre back. With Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker on the wrong age of 30, It would be safe for Wenger to start looking for potential replacements for his two starting centre backs, and Nacho seems like a player Wenger would go for.
Speaking of Wenger, the long-term serving Arsenal manager is set to sign a new two-year contract extension with the Gunners according to the Daily Star.
Wenger last signed a contract extension after Arsenal lifted the FA Cup after beating Hull City in a thrilling final in 2014.
Since then Arsenal have been on steered to the top of English football, winning another FA Cup the following year and looking like firm favourites to win the Premier League title this year too.
