Arsene Wenger is close to signing promising Nigerian players Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze, according to Sky Sports.
The duo shined in the under-17 FIFA World Cup last year in Chile. Nwakali, 17, was named as player of the tournament, whsilt Chukwueze, 16, captained the Super Eagles to their fifth u-17 World Cup.
Both players have both been linked with moves to Bayern Munich and Manchester City, but it looks like the Gunners have won the race for these two promising players.
Moving from almost confirmed deals to rumours, and Celta Vigo winger Nolito has again been linked with a move to Arsenal. El Mundo Deportivo claims that Arsenal will trigger the Spaniard’s £13million buy-out clause, however the 28-year-old is keen to move to La Liga champions Barcelona.
Nolito is primarily used as a left winger for Celta Vigo, who are enjoying an incredible season in La Liga as they currently lay 5th in the table, however Nolito can play as a striker too, which could indicate that Wenger could play Nolito up top.
Finally, Arsenal are set to beat Manchester City, again, to the signing of Charlton Athletic striker Ademola Lookman according to the Sun. The 18-year-old has scored three times for the Championship side this season, and Charlton would consider a fee for £2million for the promising striker.
However interim manager Karel Fraeye has insisted that Lookman is not leaving The Valley just yet, saying that:”Ademola is on a two-and-a-half year deal already, we are doing what we have to do. “I think we are very close to where we want to be. “Ademola has just started first-team football. He’s started very well but he’s got so many steps to take.”
